I had useful exchanges on challenges to #MediaFreedom throughout the #OSCE, the unique role of the RFoM Mandate, the impact of our work, and the need to uphold Ministerial Council Decision 3/18 on the #SafetyofJournalists and other relevant commitments.

Supporting journalists in exile is the next best thing to supporting #MediaFreedom in their home countries, enabling them to report freely, ethically and professionally, protecting freedom of expression, advancing the free flow of information, in line with OSCE commitments.

19 years ago today, Anna Politkovskaya, a journalist with Novaya Gazeta and a prominent critic of the government, was shot dead in #Russia. The mastermind behind her killing must be brought to justice. Anna’s courage and commitment to independent journalism will not be forgotten.
