You can't download compiled statcast data anywhere unfortunately. For pitch by pitch data for a single game you have to access a big ol json through Savant like such baseballsavant.mlb.com/gf?game_pk=%... and replace the game code which you can grab from the AFL schedule through the individual links

Luis De Leon almost reminds me of a lefty Luis Castillo in his delivery. Splitter is a DEVASTING out pitch. Changeup he mixes in against righties is solid as well. Sinker is a lot like Castillo’s. I think the main thing for him will be learning to consistently locate his slider

Random one off example here but I’m pretty sure Carson Whisenhunt didn’t throw one singular curveball at the exact same spin rate and movement as his slider. My hypothesis is that they’re over-relying on velocity bands and not relying on spin enough to identify

I’m not entirely convinced it’s just small sample AFL either. I saw a screenshot from earlier this year where Will Klein was identified as throwing a fastball, cutter, and curveball in AAA and now there’s a slider in there which I’m pretty sure is not real. Lot of slider/cutter weirdness

I’ve been noticing a lot lately (specifically with AFL data) that it’s been very overeager to hallucinate new groupings of pitches that a guy isn’t actually throwing. Like the sensitivity got jacked up or something. These are all AFL charts which I guess can be attributed to pitcher inconsistency

I phoned in and didn’t double check some of the Prospect Savant AFL rate formulas since I had to calculate it pitch by pitch and didn’t think many people were looking at it, but one of the players just messaged me and told me a bunch of them are using it as a reference
