This S gauge American Flyer locomotive was included among a collection of O gauge trains, with no additional S gauge track or cars. When I met an AF vendor at a train show he was able to give me advice and hook me up with what I need.

After opening it up and replacing the missing motor brushes the little Atlantic ran wonderfully. This is my first real experience with American Flyer and it’s been fun to learn about them. I think you can say I’m a fan now! :D

Oh, that'd be fun, thanks! Also, I already know what I have here isn't a proper set. The engine was all by itself and the rolling stock is whatever knuckle-coupler equipped cars I could find at a train show. Although I guess we could try to figure out what set the engine WOULD have come from. :)

-too many loops/trackage

-no real grass or ballast
-plastic unpainted buildings
-colorful trains
-operating accessories
