I thought the opposite would be true when I started T, but instead I’m just really into anime about racing now. Redline almost made me cry.

I have a couple friends there who survived the layoffs, but the atmosphere is grim. All the journalists are gone in a move to “focus on TV instead of longform written work.” But apparently those same journalists worked on the TV side too and were the main draw for donors.

Some info on Greek names from a Greek-American: You’re right, “Yanacki” is not a name. Yiannaki/Giannaki IS a surname and specifically a feminine one. Women drop the “s” at the end, though not often in Greek-American communities. Also the -aki/-akis suffix often denotes a family from Crete.

I had the honor of introducing the film for a film festival to an audience of middle aged and older cis folks (and a few younger queers). I’m glad they all came to watch and I’m glad they didn’t see me tearing up in the back row…
