A hug? No. He needs to be told “no” repeatedly and held accountable for all his misbehavior. It’s imperative to know when to offer comfort and when to discipline. All of either is definitely a mistaken approach. Honestly, I’m shocked that as a sociologist with a PhD you don’t know this.
