Love the custom developer "over 250 github contributors" in the profile!
December 13, 2024 at 4:16 PM
For all the data enthusiasts out there: since December 1, the start of the Advent of Open Source, we've had between 370 and 901 unique visitors per day and 663 to 1,530 page views per day.

The top 3 countries are United States, Germany, and France.

The suggestions are so random when you refresh the page 😆

I tried to click on the "Create a Profile Readme" (also have one). It wasn't able to get my username automatically 😅

First time I see that in my GitHub dashboard. Probably new in the interface 🤷

1K followers on the launch day of Advent of Open Source! Thank you all—this is a great start for our Open Source community.

To celebrate, there's a hidden little treasure on the homepage of adventofopensource.com. Can you find it?

Is there a better way to present it visually (more condensed), but also in terms of accessibility?

I was thinking of simplifying it to:

```
> Here [they say] is where the adventure begins.
```

This would generate just a <blockquote> instead of two + a <p> in the middle.

I'm knee-deep in creating the challenges, so I haven't had time to dig into this yet. If anyone knows the answer without much effort, that'd be awesome! 🙏

For the dialogues, I currently have this in Markdown:

```
> Here,
they say,
> is where the adventure begins.
```

I refuse to join Bluesky. I don't want to be part of a checkout chamber.

Fun to see the HTML elements copied to the IDE when using with Bluesky. First time that happens.

But works as well :)

It will be really useful when the code blocks will be supported in Bluesky 🙌

Shout out to github.com/fregante (who also created github.com/refined-gith...) for making Open Source tools like that!

Drop some stars ⭐

Got my own game: the Advent of the Advent of Open Source. 🎲
It's a paper-based game. 📝

Apparently, GitHub knows I'm cooking the Advent of Open Source event right now.
Love that name 👨‍🍳

~2 weeks before the big wave, I paid for X to see if it would improve visibility. Spoiler: it didn’t. Here’s a screenshot of what changed: bots! Meanwhile, on Mastodon and now Bluesky, with a similar follower count and the same content, I’m getting much more visibility and meaningful interactions!

This is actually a really handy tool—great job @azat-io.bsky.social
I just ran "npx todoctor" at the root level of twbs/bootstrap, and found out 102 TODOs.
I had no idea there were that many! 😱

💡What if we had an Advent of Open Source this December?
Each day, exploring new aspects of OSS project management to help both newcomers and experienced maintainers start or improve their projects. No leaderboard, focused on collaboration.
Would you be interested? Let me know! 🎁 #AdventOfOpenSource

Better GitHub Co-Authors is a browser extension by Chris Swithinbank, simplifying adding co-author credits to PRs. It adds an 'Add co-authors' button to the merge UI, auto-collecting participants and generating 'Co-authored-by' comments 🌟

The org looks quite empty—no link in the description or other details. Maybe just a placeholder for now?
