feels very strange to work on Thanksgiving, 4th of July, and 9/11, that's for sure -- some weeks ago, when I got the notice that I have a court appearance tomorrow my first reaction was "that can't be right, it's Thanksgiving" (though we've been here almost 10 years)

that block has been fixed up a little -- they interred an Unknown Soldier at the Memorial there (on the left) in 2024, and the sidewalk past the site has been widened and made safer and wider for pedestrians ... obv this means you need to come back and see it

recently, counsel for a govt agency read out an e-mail I'd sent to an unrep opposing party; judge wasn't impressed at the move but I recall thinking about that very e-mail, "write this as if it gets read out in court, write this as if it gets read out ..."
