Yes it's crowded, but cities don't remain static. In 2021 the population in the CBD was just shy of 55,000 then. It might easily be another 10%-20% now. If we can create a viable bypass of the central Hoddle grid to the west, then I'd consider that a good thing.

Traffic can be something horrible for the residents in West Melbourne too.

That's actually a nice handy link to Docklands and south of the Yarra. It will take a lot of traffic from the west away from Spencer Street/ Dudley Street etc.
