Tangentially related, in theory you can hit up a food bank and ask for food (during their operating hours). They will give you food proportional to the number of people in your household regardless of income.

If you find a group, I'd throw in Zephyr as a recommendation. A very different kind of game about little wood people where you are empowered by emotions, and has interesting survival mechanics.

If you can't, I'd recommend Ironsworn: Starforged. A compelling solo ttrpg of space adventure.
