Moreover, this data sharingundermines the effectiveness of the Massachusetts Shield Law and potentially violates its protections. If your police department uses Flock or a similar license plate reader (LPR)provider, we urge you to take immediate action to: (1) disable any nationwide data sharing features, and (2) amend contract language that may give the company the legal right to share your jurisdiction's data.

Beginning with Trump’s first day in office, the lawyers narrated the events that most alarmed them over the next 10 months. They described being asked to drop cases for political reasons, to find evidence for flimsy investigations and to take positions in court they thought had no legitimate basis. They also talked about the work they and their colleagues were told to abandon — investigations of terrorist plots, corruption and white-collar fraud.

Tech related market excitement should be focused on heat pumps and solar panels but everyone is investing instead in technology that teaches kids how to burn their houses down and engage in a little kinky role play
But the worst influence by far appeared to be FoloToy’s Kumma, the toy that runs on OpenAI’s tech, but can also use other AI models at the user’s choosing. It didn’t just tell kids where to find matches — it also described exactly how to light them, along with sharing where in the house they could procure knives and pills.

Massie wants everyone to know that even if he died, his signature on the discharge petition would stand. So don’t kill him, ok?!
Now that the so-called discharge petition that would force a vote on the Epstein files has the backing of 218 members, their signatures are frozen and cannot be removed. Representative Thomas Massie, Republican of Kentucky, told reporters that he checked with the House parliamentarian and was told that even if one of the members who signed the petition left Congress or died, their signature would still stand. The question will be relevant soon: Representative Mikie Sherrill, the Democrat who won an election to be New Jersey’s governor, said she planned to submit her resignation next week.

Fantastic advocacy here re Flock. Wyden and Krishnamoorthi point out that Flock's failure to require customers to use multi-factor authentication has led to systemic security failures, including Flock accounts being listed for sale on Russian cybercrime sites.
Flock’s failure to natively support and require phishing-resistant MFA means that if hackers or foreign spies steal, phish, or otherwise learn a law enforcement officer’s Flock password, they can gain access to law-enforcement-only areas of Flock’s website and search the billions of photos of Americans’ license plates collected by taxpayer-funded cameras across the country. This threat is not theoretical. A search by Congressional staff of a public tool operated by the cybersecurity company Hudson Rock documenting accounts compromised by a form of malware known as an “info stealer” reveals that passwords for at least 35 Flock customer accounts have been stolen. Security researcher Benn Jordan also recently provided our offices with a screenshot from a Russian-language cybercrime forum in which Flock accounts appear to be offered for sale.

Mr. Mamdani, who campaigned on sweeping promises, can build a more positive legacy by focusing on tangible accomplishments. He should take notes from successful mayors, moderate and progressive alike, including Muriel Bowser of Washington, Mike Duggan of Detroit and Michelle Wu of Boston, who have delivered concrete solutions to specific problems. Mr. Mamdani cannot solve economic inequality, the problem that fueled his campaign. But he can make progress. He can build more housing. He can expand the availability of child care and good schools. He can improve bus and subway speeds.

Life came at this man very fast. In 1639 he was commissioned to build the stocks in Boston, where people accused of crimes would be punished. When he presented his bill for the labor, they threw him in the stocks he had just built!
1639. Edward Palmer was employed to build the stocks (a place in which to set criminals for punishment); when completed, he presented his bill []. This was thought to be exorbitant, and poor Palmer got placed in his own machine, and fined five dollars.

The Henneicke Column (Dutch: Colonne Henneicke) was a group of Dutch Nazi collaborators working in the investigative division of the Central Agency for Jewish Emigration (Zentralstelle für jüdische Auswanderung) in Amsterdam, during the Nazi Germany occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Between March and October 1943 the group, led by former auto mechanic Wim Henneicke [nl] and Willem Briedé, was responsible for tracking down Jews in hiding and arresting them. The group arrested and delivered to the Nazi authorities 8,000–9,000 Jews. Most of them were deported to Westerbork concentration camp and later shipped to and murdered in Sobibor and other German extermination camps.[1] The bounty paid to Henneicke Column members for each captured Jew was 7.50 guilders (equivalent to about US $4.75). The group, consisting of 18 core members, disbanded on October 1, 1943. However, the Column’s leaders continued working for Hausraterfassungsstelle (Household property registration office), tracking down hidden Jewish property. Before Nazi Germany retreated from the Netherlands in May 1945, Wim Henneicke was assassinated by the Dutch resistance in December 1944 in Amsterdam. Willem Briedé escaped the country and settled in Germany. In 1949 he was tried by a Dutch court in absentia and received the death penalty. The sentence was never carried out; Briedé died of natural causes in Germany in January 1962. The history of the Henneicke Column was researched by Dutch journalist Ad van Liempt, who in 2002 published in the Netherlands: A Price on Their Heads, Kopgeld, Dutch bounty hunters in search of Jews, 1943.[2]

POST’s enforcement division alleges Devine had a “sexual encounter” with Birchmore while he was on duty in December 2020 and falsely claimed that he didn’t exchange electronic messages with her. A Stoughton police internal investigation released in 2022 found that Devine used the alias Marty Riggs, a character in the “Lethal Weapon” franchise, to communicate with Birchmore on Facebook. Devine denies using the alias and asserts he didn’t have sexual contact with Birchmore and never exchanged electronic messages with her. He testified he and his family have been targeted by computer hackers for years and he never had the Facebook messenger app that Birchmore used to communicate with the person identified as Marty Riggs.

Miller got told no for similar stuff in the first term. He doesn’t have people there to say ‘No, this isn’t a good idea’ anymore.”
