Not a call out or anything, but just wanna highlight this reply because it's what this article fundamentally misses. As someone who did front-line work, and now I can't because I'm permanently disabled, I'm just really tired of disabled people being left out of a much more needed convo.
Lord, Janus, what bad and pretty insulting post. Are you aware how inaccessible protests are to anyone who isn't able-bodied or thin or neurotypical? Are you aware that there are people for whom digital activism like posting might be the only thing they have the ability or real capacity to do? what about those of us at significantly higher risk of political violence aimed towards us, whether we be undocumented, trans, Black, or queer? Should we simply go to the protest with no assurances that the white ablebodied cishet protestors will sacrifice themselves first? It seems like you've forgotten that activism requires a broad set of skills, and not all of those call for front-line work. Support systems are required, and those that organize and deploy them are critical. Much, if not all of that work can be done digitally and not everyone is required to put their bodies on the line, especially when many of us already live with that reality daily. Finally, as someone who is at high risk for severe Covid infection, why would I attend a rally or a march where organizers will not mandate masking, where community care for anyone other than the thin and able-bodied does not exist? If protests and marches wish to build stronger community support, they need to ensure they center the most harmed and least helped not just in their demands, but in their organizing practices. can you solely post your way out of fascism? No, but you also can't march your way out or donate your way out. Resisting and dismantling fascism is a communitarian event that requires all types of skills, expertly wielded. Unfortunately, this article is a diminishment of what true antifascist movements look like.

working on my 'sketchier' bits for more consistency. Both love and hate digital because its so hard to mimic what my actual trad pencil work looks like, but I love it because then I can find ONE brush that helps. Bless the #procreate community. #art #digitalart
