I was not aware that @jrobinsonauthor.bsky.social had done this, no, but certainly authors have dropped in names of peers and pals in their books before; I certainly have. Having not read the book in question, I can only hope the Scalzi character died in a particularly amusing and/or gruesome way.
I just finished up Point Nemo by Jeremy Robinson. Two characters were named Scalzi and Weir. Was this an insider joke among authors or something? Did you know Jeremy Robinson did this?
