My first think was to go with tidyverse. However, will depends on what will be her first step and daily usage.
If she only needs define a project (.Rproj) and load a dataframe (.csv, .xlsx, etc) tidyverse is fine.
Doing something else (stats modeling, collaboration, etc) a minimum of base R though.
