A lot of this outrage seems to be also over its nominations/awards at the Game Awards. If the awards aren't special for you, then it's fine to sit them out (and you'll hear about the announcements anyways).

S2 and S3 were leaps and bounds past S1 for me. S1 has cute moments while also being pretty confused on franchise direction; it's solidly OK.

That's pretty fair, I'd say! I just worry that sometimes people focus too much on whether a work has flaws versus the fun they have with it.

Anthem of the Heart's a great film then and now

Idol Jihen has an interesting premise that does not quite come out in most of the episodes. It's an amusing watch, and some eps I took to, though. More of an idol show with a bit of politics than the politics coming out.

Side note but the designs are nice too IIRC
