The American people could shut this down at any point. They haven't because it's not a priority. We've chosen to live with the abuse instead of taking the risks associated with standing up to the regime.

When we arrive at the other side, we should approach in a similar way to post-war Germany. Trials
of perpetrators, ban of symbols (including confederacy) dissolve sources of funding and propaganda, rebuild the education system etc, etc.

All dictators are eventually toppled. Unfortunately, it is usually after a long, difficult and costly struggle. We might be under trmp/maga rule for decades until there is enough momentum to remove them.
