What an exciting find! Great for botanists that many #ferns can still be seen through the winter months 😄 ❄️🧤🌿 #uplandplants @donncha-oc.bsky.social @ollysflora123.bsky.social @phoebeobrien.bsky.social @npwsireland.bsky.social @cedar-ni.bsky.social @irishwoodlandtrust.bsky.social
New site record of Hymenophyllum tunbrigense for Co. Louth (H31) growing in a rocky woodland on a minor hill. Happy to find this one today. A very scarce species in the county.

Out on the Dingle peninsula for the new year. This happens to be the only known locality in Ireland for Sibthorpia europaea (Cornish Moneywort). Dropped in on one of the lovely populations today 😍

Glendelough, Co. Wicklow. Wet weather, but still a very enjoyable place to visit. Not much botanising this time, but plenty of Gorse (Ulex europaeus) and plenty of ferns to admire along the way, with the beautiful scenery! @bsbibotany.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social

My first Bluesky post! Gorse (Ulex spp) already showing bursts of yellow at Salthill, Co. Galway. Could it be Ulex galli (Western Gorse) Considering the flowering time, or is it a weird time for U. galli and U. europaeus? Couldn't get closer, on a golf course! @bsbibotany.bsky.social
