Sure, it's been clear for a long time that execs broadly only care about art's ability to make them money. Still, to come out and say, "The AI tag is relevant to art exhibits for authorship disclosure," implying that doesn't apply to video games? That's disgusting, short-sighted, and plain wrong.

Dang, can't believe the Xbox 360 turns 20 today! It holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first home console I bought with my own money. 😊 Played the hell out of it in high school, and still have it (in good working order!) to this day. Microsoft sucks, but they cooked with this one!

For me, it's gotta be Bear Raid or OG Ethnos. For the former, it's because it has such a strange, oddly violent image while the game is just a straight-up stock market game. For the latter, it's for looking like such an epic war game when it's actually just playing card sets and placing neon discs.

I totes agree, except (and I may be biased because it's the only one I've actually bought 😅), the Drawfee one slaps because a) it represents their cartoon avatars pretty much perfectly, b) it feels like more than a figure since it has all of them together, and c) it has a function (can hold a pen)!

Idk, this one is just...kinda cozy to me. Doesn't take itself too seriously, and it's a really pleasant watch.

Cheddar chipotle pasta with vegetarian ground beef mixed in! Another quick fix meal that turned out quite well! The chipotle flavour's a bit milder than I would have liked, but it's still solid enough that I won't mind having the leftovers for the next few days. :P

Wooo got my first jester award on one of my Steam reviews! Probably because I denounced the use of AI-generated art in it! 😅

DISCLAIMER: There's a rumour going around that Awaken - Astral Blade utilizes AI-generated "art" in one or more areas, and if that turns out to be true, this review should not be taken as me condoning its use; I am vehemently opposed to it, in fact.
In a world of truly excellent 2D Metroidvanias, Awaken - Astral Blade can seem like a bit of a hard sell. It's got an at times confusing and consistently unremarkable narrative, combat that can feel repetitive depending on the scenario, and some truly bizarre design choices; seriously, why does the text auto-advance when there's no voice acting? That being said, the gameplay experience is generally solid enough to mitigate a lot of my complaints with it. While aerial combat is limited and can thus feel tedious, ground combat has enough flexibility with weapon-swapping combos and unlockable upgrades to be both flashy and fun. The platforming is also pretty good, and generally not too punishing if you miss a jump. I do think that there are better Metroidvanias out there if you're looking for something truly exceptional, but as a solid way to spend a dozen hours or so, you could do a lot worse than Awaken - Astral Blade.
