Politically bereft, and quite depressed over the US result.
Trying to catch up on all the books I should have read.
No bitcoin, money schemes, relationships.
Just to say that fireflies ai is basically malware. It's good at summarizing meetings etc., but impossible to remove if you don't want it. I have now blocked it for my business.

Reported a fraud on Facebook (false claim that commonwealth JPs can witness your vote enrolment) and as usual FB says it doesn't go against "community standards" which as far as I can tell isnt against lies or racism or hatred but closing down my friend's accounts for no obvious reason. #auspol

Exhausting coming home from USA to Sydney and having Border Force constantly redefine the queues and telling people off for queuing incorrectly, even though there was no obvious space to queue. They can't cope with a lot of arrivals clearly. Still better than the TSA at the other end...

Well Claude Code is great, and it wrote a nifty summary report for my data migration, but renaming the tables (to better names admittedly) was a little irritating.

Any good value Asian Restaurants in NYC Midtown (near Grand Central)? Bit cold for Sushi.

Using Grammarly to correct my work is much more useful than using AI. Grammarly corrects simple things, which I can accept or reject. AI rewrites everything in a different voice and confabulates. Given my partner is a retired editor, I really should use her, but she gives me such a hard time :)

So after nearly 7 years (?), my younger brother Becher wraps up the "leading Tasmanian Political Podcast" Frontcast. I'm very proud of his achievements, and I'll miss his views on politics (actually, they'll probably still be available to me). podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/f...

Blue Sky has confirmed my age. Sadly a fat balding git with John Howard eyebrows can't pass for under 16.

I'd boycott Netflix so they couldn't buy Warner Bros (are the rest of you 300 million with me?), except we cancelled a year ago, I still haven't watched everything I want on Disney (although that's close), Apple and Prime.

When do pub tests happen? before or after the trivia night? Is the pub tested, or does the test occur in the pub? Is there a curriculum? Is it ad-hoc? Does the SMH publish the results like the HSC? So many questions.

Australians suddenly discover how much big IT projects cost, and all claim they could have done it for less because they know how to use WordPress or a Mac. The fact that the BOM got away with http rather than https says something about Australians, because the main outrage is the weather graphs.

Now that the new NSW Opposition Leader doesn't have the same name as my real estate agent, I suppose I'll have to bother to remember her name. Or not.

Today is the ultimate victory of Oliver over Andrew, a name that once dominated but is now in terminal decline, whereas Oliver has lept from the ashes to be the name. (no Princes... yet).

My favourite so far - love the Asian music I'd never really heard before, and Trent Yarwood's choices are fantastic. And then there's David F Porteous's choices. Oh well.
