Way back when the child care center stuff was happening at the U, one of the working groups I structured among the parents was “emotional labor”—they made sure we took care of people so others could take care of other things. If you don’t do it explicitly it’s very vulnerable to being overlooked.

Things I wish all event organizers would do: be more explicit about how they’re going to accommodate needs/children, build in a reminder that if you’re sick to please stay home.
