Under President Trump and the Republican Congress, the USA is sealing itself off from the world brick by brick by brick. Its withdrawal from the World Health Organization, the global public health arm of the United Nations, is particularly foolish and shortsighted.

Yes, a US invasion of Greenland would mean the end of NATO. But what would really bother Americans would be the likely end of visa-free travel to Europe. Their privileged access revoked, Americans would have to apply to enter. I can already hear the caterwauling.
