A mate printed this for me to use as a camp/fortress in our DBA Fantasy LOTR games. Durins Door. Couldn’t wait to get paint on it. I’m going to try and get a light inside it as well.

Been rebasing my LOTR Army of the Dead for DBA Fantasy rules. They will now be fast hordes in the game.

I’m sure some of you will remember this guy? This was a tough build but I got there in the end. Polish Lancer from Waterloo. Very early Airfix kit. I’m now going to have a bex and a lie down 😀👍

Do you remember Tom Bombadil? And Goldberry? From the LOTR books. He will be making an appearance in tomorrow’s DBA Lord of the Rings game. The DBA fantasy rules allow you to field “Gods.” So Tom will be a God. If you’ve read have read the books you will know why.

Last night was our first game of Lord of the Rings using DBA fantasy rules. Uruk-Hai vs Elves and the Knights of Dol Amroth coalition. The rules worked really well for LOTR with a myriad of differently themed armies possible.

12 player game of DBA Big Battles at the club last night. Romans vs Gauls. 28mm miniatures. That’s me left hand side far end. Victory to the Gauls.

Still experimenting on larger scale figures. These are 54mm 1:32 soft plastic French Voltigeurs by @hatminis.bsky.social. I did struggle with removing mould lines/flash & found the soft plastic difficult to work with. Also backpacks don’t fit overly well. Still, in the end they have come up okay.

Finally completed my ACW Confederates from the battle of Atlanta 1864. This a metal 54mm figure from Andrea Miniatures. Will do another post on how I am thinking of displaying him.

As my eyesight grows dim I am really enjoying painting these 54mm figures. These 3 are Saxon Warriors.
