During its recent conference, Unite voted massively in favour of looking at alternative recipients of funding which is basically a precursor motion to Disaffiliation, which is almost certainly set to happen.

If Labour is no longer the party of trade unions, then it needs a new party that puts the trade unions at its centre from its very beginning.

At the last Unite conference the motion to review political alignment passed with a massive majority, and as Sharon Graham said, a vote for disaffiliation would pass right now.

I know that. It’s because they’re not affiliated to Labour that I believe they’ll be the first.
