In my experience, after spending 30+ years in IT, is that it's never the manager that gets in trouble, it's the IT staff. The number of time I heard "Well you should have made it clearer!" when what I predicted happened exactly as I predicted.

Is $500m correct or should that be $500K like you say in a later paragraph?
