Marvach is derived from "marbh ach", meaning "dead, but", and these creatures are inspired by the legend of the Hungry Man that arose in Ireland during the Great Hunger (what's known as the Potato Famine)

I mean, I was still with the company at the time and was excited to see my system used in a new way. And by all accounts, the Laundry looks fun. It just would have been nice to be credited
