Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough.

A sassafras rootbeer recipe with guidance on foraging. @gnome-and-tonic.bsky.social says it's 3 of cups energy, so perfect to share with old school chums when you sneek away from Thanksgiving drama at your family's place. There is a fermented version, haven't tracked it down yet.

@thedeviantwitch.com What books do you recommend for learning to interpret TRW tarot? Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom is helping with major arcana, but doesn't go very deep with minor.

Been learning a lot more about sassafrass. This post, and especially the comments below it, covered much of what I've learned so far. I'm still searching for witchy uses. I read something about burying money at the roots for prosperity workings, but I need more detail.

Well, it's finally blocking time. Then just need to sew the seam to make it an ear-warmer/headband. Pleased with how this turned out. Knitting has been more difficult to learn than crochet, but worth it!

Not that I can think of, but there is a lot of spirit around right now. New process for me working with spirit other than my ancestors. Very exciting work, but it's a lot. The sweet, peaceful smell of oranges is very welcome, LOL!!

Self care should happen when you need it, as soon as you need it, perfection be damned!

I grew up with this bazaar expectation that my weight was supposed to stay the same my whole life and if it deviated from that I was doing something wrong. Such a harmful way to think about oneself. I know better now, but am still working to release the baggage that came with that belief.

Anectodally speaking, I can absolutely vouch for this, LOL!

I love burning mugwort to help me meet and chat with ancestors. Thankfully, a little goes a long way (because asthma). I hold just a pinch with tweezers in the candle flame and that is enough.
