After communion this morning, the Sun had moved to a position where it was streaming through one window high above the sanctuary floor and falling directly on me. It was a great reminder that the light of God's love shines on us even in the darkest valleys of our life journey.

This is a picture from 8 years ago from an interfaith rally in support of Muslim refugees. This was a response to Trump's ban on travel from 6 Muslim-majority nations that closed the door on refugees from these nations. We need a rally like this today.

It's also hard to hear God's voice when you expect a male voice and it turns out to be a female voice.

This is from Phillip Yancey's book, Disappointment With God. It seems like a good reminder as we move towards the beginning of what has been promised to be an authoritarian administration. We not only can, but must choose to love God and our neighbors.

If your plan is to practice excessive deficit spending it stands to reason that you would want to increase the debt ceiling.
