OH LOL yeah absolutely feel free to use that same setup or take inspiration from it if you want to!! I haven't really seen other people do it before but it helps a ton with organization!

Oh I actually did something like this for AF earlier this year! I put frames around my character icons that were color coordinated to match each shared universe along with info in the corners that showed their priority and forms! It took a bit to set up but people told me it was really helpful!

I'm finally about halfway done with my sona's new ref, I went ahead and got the anthro stuff done since I knew it would take me the longest, so now I just have to do his normal form and some closeup details. This is easily one of the largest refs I've done to date but I like how it's turning out.

I can officially conclude that option B works significantly better as his default. I'll still keep option A as an option, but B will definitely be what I go with for his default design.

Oh yeah, there are a few refs that I've made that took me several days to get through because I kept wanting to make them super complex. 😭 I went and updated most of my character's refs earlier this year which took so long but it was very much needed since a lot of their refs were several years old.

Oh yeah that's completely valid as well. 😭 Feathered wings look great but they're always at least somewhat annoying to draw.

Thank you! Yeah, I really like how both interpretations look, but I think I'll probably keep him wingless by default with the option to draw wings on his back. I think it's good to have both as options for anthro birds though since different interpretations can suit different art styles better!

That's definitely an issue for me sometimes. I tend to keep them pretty simple, but I've noticed that the ref sheets for my favorite OCs accidentally turn out a lot more complex because of my favoritism. The one I'm doing now for my sona has three fullbodies and a ton of close-up smaller details. 🫠
