The TayNew fandom has not been happy basically since the pilot dropped. So they’ll be happy they got this sorted out quickly.

Apparently the novel was originally a fanfic for a Chinese fandom that the author put behind a paywall, profiting off the original actors. Don’t know the full details, but apparently it was becoming a trending issue on Weibo after the pilot dropped.

That was faster than anyone expected, but good to ”consult the legal team early“ or whatever they haven’t done in the past.

There were already complaints about them toning down the trailers before the event began, so will be really interesting to see what the final product is. Even just with how dark the colouring is on a lot of these.
