That's pretty much how L*n*han started, isn't it? A steep and slippery slope

Seriously are you lot OK?

You poor misguided fools. Pigs in blankets and Christmas pudding are the only things worth eating on Christmas day. Apart from your bodyweight in cheese, obviously

It's rare we disagree, Doug, but on this I'm afraid you are categorically wrong.

Ha! They're still the band I've seen the most often. They really were something.

There's a complicated question about trust, I grant you, but contractually they state that they do not do this. Arguably I wouldn't trust OpenAI as far as I could spit them, but Google and MS have different incentives, and too many corporate customers to risk.

So says boring enterprise IT man.

I hate to be that guy, but Google will not scrape everything you write in a private Google Doc. The many many large businesses that use them would not and could not if they did. There were recent similar scares about Microsoft365 too. Neither are true.

The biggest range rovers are almost exactly the same dimensions as my camper, like within millimetres

Definitely. It's the refusal to rip off the plaster and actually raise proper taxes
November 26, 2025 at 3:42 PM
No! It's completely fair! It's a van, and should pay its way accordingly

Mileage for everyone seems the best choice, banded based on emissions. MOT records mileage for all vehicles, so would be practical to implement. Although fuel duty is helpfully a) semi-invisible and b) pay as you go, rather than "here's a massive bill kthxbai"

Not exactly incentivising take up, but I guess the incoming ban on ICEs is the stick, so less need of a carrot?
November 26, 2025 at 3:19 PM
It's a big hike, isn't it? If you do 12,000 miles a year in a petrol family hatchback the annual fuel duty is around the £600 mark. For an EV this new charge will be £360 (plus you already pay ~£40 in taxes on the electricity used)
