Nine out of 10 job openings (2.4 million) over the next 10 years in #Oregon are expected due to the need to replace workers who retire, leave the labor force for other reasons, or make a major occupational change.

Oregon had 2.01 million workers covered by the state’s unemployment insurance system during the fourth quarter of 2024. The median wage increased by $0.37 over the year, after being adjusted for inflation.

Oregon businesses reported 46,300 vacancies in fall 2025. Vacancies decreased 14% from the summer and decreased 7% from fall 2024. Fall 2025 was the lowest level of quarterly vacancies Oregon has seen since spring 2020.

In December, Oregon’s seasonally adjusted nonfarm payroll employment dropped by 2,200 jobs, following a gain of 800 jobs, as revised, in November. Oregon’s unemployment rate was 5.2% in both November and December. (1/2)
