I just want to post about fun stuff, but the politics never stops being stupid and dangerous.

Things I consider fun: Video games, animation, painting minis, synths.
Kinda like how after WW2, no one had been a member of the party, and everyone loved the resistance.

Can't wait for these scumfucks who flew trump flags to say they never supported ice.

That is the Lincoln bathroom now.

I think the best way is—as others have said—building confidence with a box mix, then having fun with that box mix (more eggs/milk browning the butter, etc.)

Or just grabbing a very basic recipe for what you want to make, and learning that. Like, I wanted to make bread, so I learned no-knead bread.

There's still time to delete this homophobic slop, jimmy.

Wow! You distilled my entire personality in the 90s!

It's literally just the one I learned from an old Betty Crocker cookbook.

My only changes are I use butter-flavored crisco for shortening (because that's what mom kept in the house) , and I add a big pinch of nutmeg and a smaller one of cloves to my rolling sugar.

Yeah...Insecure is a good way to describe my mom.

It's funny, despite my mom being fairly anti-trans, our relationship definitely has the vibe of "insecure narcissist mother and self-raised eldest daughter".

Like, if not daughter, why trauma daughter-shaped?

My mom was more likely to ask me for a recipe (not that she'd use it) than help me learn.

Unfortunately, her ego gets in the way. Like, she's convinced I won't give her my "real" snickerdoodle recipe because it has nutmeg in it, and she claims that can't be my secret and tells me to stop using it.

Exactly!

And we seem to be very good at teaching and learning as an informal collective. Probably because we had to self-learn, then teach, from an early age, since we were expected to learn everything new for our parents, then teach the helpless dipshits, or just do it for them forever.

Like, it was interesting to see how many young adults got into the mantic76 videos on safety razors largely because their parents never taught them how to shave.

Also, maybe I'm wrong here, but I feel like we're a more talented generation WRT cooking, because we had to figure it out on our own.

I honestly don't know, but both are pretty good contenders.

It definitely is. I watched a lot of millennial trends develop in the mid/late 00s and early 10s, and it was funny how we all sorta simultaneously got into a lot of adult minutae, like wet shaving, because our parents taught us jack shit.

Dad would, from, like, age 5, take me out in the woods and demand I identify plants.

The only time he actually told me what they were was when yelling at me for getting them wrong.

I'm honestly surprised I love learning as much as I do.

Loved having to emotionally regulate two grown adults who had no problem with and no legal/social consequences for causing me physical, mental, or emotional pain from basically the time I was born.

Made me such a well adjusted, normal, and happy person.
November 14, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Yep! My mom likes to tell the story about how she got a spray bottle and squirted me any time I was loud as a baby.

I got told I was a "difficult child" despite spending most of my time sitting quietly and reading, and never going to a single party in high school.

Also, just to avoid misunderstanding, this is not defending his current ban. Megyn Kelly should absolutely go into the chipper. Feet first. Set to its slowest speed.

He used to have this photo of nick giving him a book in 2015 up on his Twitter until people realized who he was.

He's also friends with white supremacist jim goad.

I don't think singal is wealthy or powerful enough for epstein. He probably gets his kids through other, less prestigious, pedophile rings.

She made disparaging comments about "Alphabros", clearly referencing Tudyk's role on the short-lived science fiction series, Dollhouse.
