WHY? When those same parents would (rightly so, btw) be infuriated if some kid decided to call their little boy a girl and call him "Samantha" instead of Samuel (ftr, this is not the child's actual name)? It's just baffling and infuriating and I'm over it.

So why when I request my child's identity be respected - or, failing that, for their kid to keep ANY of my kid's existence from their mouth - is that deemed overreacting? Why when deadnaming and maliciously misgendering causes real world, historically evidenced harm?
