Taoiseach Simon Harris and Tanaiste Micheal Martin have released separate statements over the decision by Israel to close its embassy in Dublin.

The Social Democrats office on Frederick Street in Dublin, and other offices in the same building, have been evacuated after a suspicious package was sent, addressed to suspended TD Eoin Hayes.

Gardai and technical personnel are currently at the scene.

The Social Democrats met Labour today, saying it has "always been clear we want to go into government" and has outlined its five "deal breakers".

Its deputy leader Cian O Callaghan said it will meet with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael next week, having met with Sinn Fein yesterday.
