Thinking about this bit of conversation I had earlier, talking about reaching a point of being okay with being median:

I usually decide that I'm the one who it is in a state like that, because I'm flexible enough to relate to all of the others, and harmonious and sensitive enough to detangle us When we're soup, in the early mornings, or when we collapse together instead of individually, I'd say we're experiencing everything together it reminds me of the time that we spent being collapsed, where we could feel or think things and feel all the time that they didn't come from us under the cold ice of dissociation and dysphoria, I was just, sitting, watching, trying to have any thoughts or feelings come to me at all so I would take whatever came up from the depths of myself and call it my own, and accept that I had a very changing sense of self After a bit, we tend to settle to where we expect ourselves to be in the layers of our subconscious moving from a mixture to a substrate, if I say that right? like, we distill into layers All this is to say, I get how you feel For me, I stared at all of this in desire and wonder, wanting to be anything because I started by feeling like nothing for a very long time and perhaps that informs my perspective as greedy, for what we all want and desire, having looked down from the surface at a vast frozenness If we're soup, it's okay because I know who we are when we're soup If we're us, I know who we are, and it's okay because I'm someone either way.

Finally finished my wife's winter solstice present, a bit late-- She wanted some chopsticks with her picture on them. When I found out no one makes that, I proceeded to whittle her some out of dowels, sand them down, glue the picture on, and finish it with butcher block oil.
