⚠️ BUT govt will also allow expansion of existing oil fields. That means Big Oil can continue to pollute and damage our seas ❌ Expansions MUST be subject to the same rigorous environmental checks as new licences 🔽

Fossil fuel projects like the Glendronach oil field leak mercury into our seas, which ends up in the ocean, and in our marine wildlife 🐬

Even when all the oil has been extracted, abandoned pipelines may continue to release neurotoxic mercury - which can bioaccumulate in sea creatures including fish, shellfish + marine mammals.

🇬🇧 In the UK, Gov has held 500 meetings with them in last year alone
