Started writing this to fill space in the Monsters book, but we didn't need it, so it remains unfinished. Maybe it'll get finished in some future product....
Dragon Gods The only true god of the dragons is the elder god Ket who no longer concerns themselves with the mundane world. In spite of the history which claims the elder dragons were all killed off in the early ages of the world, some remain, and some of those take an active interest in the world. But all slumber. This is the tacit agreement they have with their creator and, really, all of reality. The elder dragons, even moreso than the dwarves and the true elves, are made of godstuff. They do not appear within these pages. What they think becomes reality. In the ages since Ket placed them within the world, many new Laws were created that bound the world, limited what was possible. The elder dragons, arriving before these new laws were created, cannot act, cannot really exist without breaking those laws. So, by consensus (and by virtue of being very much not interested in the mundane world now) they sleep. Eternally. Should one of them wake, the world would be in danger. For an elder dragon by sheer thought alone can remake the world. In spite of this, some elder dragons feel a sense of responsibility over current events. There is no word for why they choose to do this, except perhaps ‘ethics.’ Ballisantirax, for instance, sleeps somewhere beneath the city of Capital. She is deeply concerned with matters in the world, and acts via many agents, principle among them, a secret society of heroes and scholars known as The Sapphire Sky. She is not the only elder dragon who acts against tyranny, but she is the chief among them and so for many Draconians, kobolds, and some obscure cultists, she would be considered a “god” of the dragons. She sometimes answers prayers and sends messagers to communicate on her behalf. These messengers are dream-projections. They are people who were born and live with the dreamworlds Ballisantirax creates in her slumber. These messengers do not know they are not real, and do not know they have left their dream realm.

Blades '68! It's all go!

Here are some chapter openers I've been working on.

It is the past, and it is America. You and your classy associates have gathered at the palatial mansion of Shelby Deville, your classiest associate. As you sit down to eat dinner, two terrible truths are revealed to you: - They’re only serving one course. - They’re... dead! Glancing around the room, it seems like everyone has a motive - you included. You’ve got twenty minutes (half an hour if you take your time and chew your food properly) to solve this mystery. A DRAMATIC TURN Each comes with THINGS TO SAY (or DO); please say (or do) these things as the game progresses. It will flow better if you can do them in order, but don’t feel like you have to if inspiration strikes. Once you’ve said everything on your character card and done everything on your role, you can reveal something dramatic about yourself: you’ve been in love with one of the other characters for years, you’re Shelby’s secret half-sibling or illegitimate child, you’ve been spying for the Russians, etc, etc. CHARACTER Plumbford Derrick. Self-made oil man. You are an investor in Deville Plastics. You need your stake back, but thanks to a tricky contract, Shelby has authority over your money while alive. THINGS TO SAY O “It’s just like my daddy always used to say...” O “You remind me of my third wife...” O “Tell me, you ever drink crude oil?” ROLE You are the Red Herring. It really seems like youdunnit, but you dunt. THINGS TO DO ⬜ Reveal something incriminating. Refuse to elaborate on it when questioned. ⬜ Awkwardly excuse yourself and leave the room. Return after exactly ninety seconds ⬜ Accuse someone of something obviously false to shift attention away from yourself ⬜ Reveal the real, shameful reason for your secrecy (not the murder)
