I just noticed that three of my Letterboxd last four have graphics showing a man opening his hands, palms out toward the viewer.
The words "recent activity" and four movie images. The first one (My Father and Qaddafi) shows a mother, father, and daughter sitting together, which doesn't fit the pattern. The other three have images that feature men opening their hands toward the viewer: Hour of the Wolf, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

When my Pittsburgh friends and I used to vacation in South Carolina we always said goodbye to the ocean before we left. Now my family and I vacation in Michigan, but we don't bother to say goodbye to the lake since we'll see it again when we get home.

Last night I watched a cheesy but fun crime thriller: Copycat (1995). It's on Criterion, and I couldn't resist seeing Holly Hunter and Sigourney Weaver team up to catch a serial killer. Harry Connick Jr. basically playing Cletus from The Simpsons and depictions of 1990s chat rooms were bonuses.

Last night I saw Ted Leo & The Pharmacists at Old Town School. Ted continues to have amazing energy. They are also headlining the Square Roots Festival if you want to see them for free.

I was at the elementary school spring concert to support my 8th grader, but the 6th Grade dance medley ("From Disco to Dab") was also super fun.
