I would prefer not to.

NM civil litigator. Trials, appeals, plaintiff, defense, you name it. Opinions are my own, not my firm's #USMC
Like I said, I respect your opinion, but it literally did. Even if the court of appeals went the other way, it allowed them to delay the trial long enough for Trump to be elected again and effectively preclude prosecution.

I can respect the people who disagree with the decision to disqualify her, but at least accept that it shows spectacularly bad judgment to create that issue when you're prosecuting the former president for trying to overthrow an election (and almost succeeding)

Multiple interpretations, one of which is clearly a felony—sounds like a jury issue!

I think Georgia CDL Andrew Fleischman called this as soon as Willis was disqualified. Once it was turned over to the Republican-aligned Prosecuting Attorneys Council, it was dead in the water.

Pete Skandalakis, who they selected to take over, was a Republican DA for 25 years.

It's sort of ironic because Halligan screwed up prosecuting a fake crime, likely because of inexperience (and malice).

Willis was very experienced and she screwed up a real, serious crime because she thought she could get away with sleeping with her subordinates.

Now that you mention it, I'm surprised no one has tried to do the Pill-Bottle-Wrap defense

This is terminal lawyerbrain. It's like saying you can't sue a car manufacturer for defects that caused you to crash because you promised not to crash when you bought it.
