I just came back from a Christmas markets trip. Budapest was busy, and super expensive. However, I really enjoyed Tallinn and Helsinki. Beautiful markets, cheaper than Budapest (!!!) and a lot of cute, artisan sellers, especially in Helsinki. Also, not crowded.

Prague is always busy and it is definitely not Europe's hidden gem.

I loved that they take card everywhere and they seem to prefer it over cash.

It's worth it as they are pretty but expect ridiculous prices, higher than in Vienna. For ex, a kurtos is £10, which to me seems ridiculous. A portion of food in the market is between £12-£20, depending on what you get. Langos start at £8 and baigli is almost £20. 😱 Small tree deco starts at £5.

As I was about to pay the price went down because that's when Easyjet was changing them. Happy days 😊

Of course, for the sarmale 😁

Mici, sarmale and papanasi - This is the perfect 3 course traditional Romanian menu 😋

I stopped there last year as well, when I drove the Cabot Trail.
