Finished 'Project Hail Mary'. I picked it as Weir's 'The Martian' was so good. I grew up reading Heinlein, Asimov, and Clarke, but these days there's so little new hard science sci-fi that I'm aware of. This and 'The Martian' could both have been titled 'One Life-threatening Problem After Another'.

Next news conference someone please ask Trump 'What do we say to citizens who claim you offer nothing but empty promises the never materialize?'

The U.S. needs a law to make any outright lie by any public official (you know who I mean here) an impeachable offense.
