You are severely overestimating how difficult it is to circumvent these methods of banning people (and underestimating how much work it takes to implement)

IP bans are also easy to circumvent. Most IPv6-supporting networks have 2^64 possible IPs. If they ban the whole IPv6 block, you can use a VPN to get around an IP ban.

Maybe on a mobile device this would be possible but you could circumvent this using a web browser

How would an "ID ban" work? That's a major privacy issue, because they would have to collect everyone's ID.

Signal isn't really an alternative because it's trusted user to trusted user communication, so you can't have large communities in a Signal chat
Encrypted + centralized is generally fine in IM as long as said encryption is open source

clients are slowly increasing support for room knocking, although what most do is a process where you DM the space admin to get an invite

idk, the only things it's missing is really voice channels (paste a mumble link/use element call rooms), bots, and webhooks

although the DM experience is terrible when compared to Signal
