Best concert I ever saw was Konono No 1 at the Black Cat in DC with the original band leader on electric likembe. Apparently the air conditioning went out halfway through the set according to a review I read but I didn't notice because I was too busy sweating and dancing in the front already.

Never got to see them live, but I picked up that Phase One LP years ago and it blew my mind... reading about their touring regimen was very inspirational. They treated being in a band like being a little army regiment, very proto-punk in that way! Brilliant musicians.

Haven't seen any of these but going to cast my vote for Soderbergh.

I have a really core memory of my brother (who is like 8 years older than me) having this on VHS and it being like, a huge entry way to punk rock and I agree the fuzzyness was probably part of the original appeal. The Neutron Bomb stuff in this movie is so great.

Right now we gotta get both my cars out of this bad area, all right?

It's really good! Very bright and contemplative sounds, very organic. I like it a lot!
