A new report from John Jay College shows felony re-arrests have dropped since New York’s bail reform laws were passed. There’s always more work to do to keep communities safe, but it’s clear that fairer criminal justice policies can help lower crime rates.

NYers shouldn’t be stuck paying for costly subscriptions. The new “Click to Cancel” law requires businesses to provide clear steps on how to end automatic renewals & avoid surprise charges (Ch. 58 of 2025, Part W). To report a violation, file a complaint at ag.ny.gov/file-complaint/consumer

Gun violence has devastated families and torn apart communities. A new law requires police to remove firearms in plain sight from a home for at least 5 days when responding to family violence reports (Ch. 466 of 2025). We must do all we can to protect victims and prevent tragedies.
