A couple 8BitDo controllers, some ROMS, and a *very* swift crash course in Fusion 360 and Python, and now the lamp plays Doom and a few other titles.
I had a ton of fun learning what I needed to make it happen, though! I still can't believe I managed to fit it all in the lamp!

The raspberry pi running Retropie, along with the amp chip and speaker, are all mounted to a frame that snaps in to the underside of the lamp.
The little 10" display in the frame didn't speak HDMI, but I had another one that did.
