Another big reason for mapping trails in OpenStreetMap is because whenever a public agency needs trail data I can point them to a query that gives them the data they need. More and better data for everyone!

Port-A-John's for construction areas are super-convenient when out on a ride in a suburban area and there aren't any parks/stands of trees around.
