@nushpowell.bsky.social
Professor of eighteenth-century lit and culture; person who studies pirates; dragon aficionado; proud parliamentarian dork. Opinions are my own and no one else's.
Seriously? Huh.

Yeah .... unfortunately it can also happen with, like, Piers Anthony.

DECEMBER 10

Sophie Ellis-Bextor dropping a dance club bop about how the most precious gift is just time with the people you love, on an album called "PERIMENOPOP"???? I would die for her. I was there when "Murder On the Dance Floor" was first unleashed and she's been my queen ever since

Sorely lack?

Should sorely want it? I'm 80% on sorely; 50% on want.

Origin stories *in general* are often not great. Oh, you say you had a traumatic childhood and it continues to affect your hero's journey? You don't say. Never would have guessed. Please unfurl it in excruciating detail so my smol brain will understand.

Dang it, Kat. The quail are mad about it too now.

Yup, same -- I discovered the antihistamine trick by accident; my doctors acted like I was crazy and washing my hands too much.

Oh, and the least humiliating part: my kid and I both experiencing hormonal acne at the same time so we can compare products.

Dry skin. Itching everywhere.

My baby's vaccine story: I had the nurses give her all the shots. Each time, she squawked for about 10-20 seconds. Then she usually took a good nap. Ten years later and no measles so far. 10/10 would recommend.

Reporting that I've never taught a sci-fi class but I persistently work Murderbot into every syllabus I can. I love seeing students flip from "I have no interest in sci-fi" to "Murderbot is my soul."
