As a school we get a lot of mid year transfers of pupils particularly children who have difficulties in previous settings, are LAC or who have been PEX. I want to create a welcome pack that helps build a sense of belonging. Any ideas??? #traumainformed #send #nurture #primary #relational

We are a nurturing/traumainformed/neurofriendly school.Just wondering what others are using to support PSHE,MH and well-being in primary? We currently use jigsaw but would love to hear what else is out there. #nurture #neurodiversity #traumainformed #send #primary

Anyone got any experience of parents turning on a child for ‘bad behaviour’ there has been one incident that has been totally blown out of proportion I have parents constantly ringing demanding the child is excluded because theirs feels unsafe. We’re an inclusive school-this has shocked me #eduSEND

Love love love this model of building a trauma informed classroom from the ACTRM model (Carter, 2023).

Empowering for teachers looking to apply trauma informed practice to the whole class.

In Scotland, @henryhepburn.bsky.social reports that worsening school behaviour has been responded to by the government with a double down on "a relational style characterised by high warmth and support, high standards and high expectations".

New Scottish behaviour plan advises ‘high warmth and high standards’
‘Culture shift’ in behaviour management has made teachers feel ‘disempowered’, says plan, which backs ‘relationships-based approaches’ and barely mentions exclusions

Education policy in England has been a mess for years. It's become an incoherent tangle of policies laid one over the other with no major rethink. This combined with a narrow group of people the last government used as sounding boards has led the sector and importantly the DfE to be overly fragile
