I'm just me.
There's a little piece of me that still has a tiny bit of hope that at the last minute he's going to decide he wants to be a Gator

People will get on your case for being a hater in this way but unfortunately it's correct
November 29, 2025 at 3:24 AM
*defensively* I actually always wanted Fisch anyways

Maybe he genuinely hasn't made up his mind and is being avoidant but he'll still choose us in the end? :(
November 28, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Depends on what old person group chats you're in

I'm in hell but if I complain too much they might realize I installed Arch Linux on my desktop

Does it allow you to avoid 2 factor authentication/re signing in on stuff? Logging in to my work outlook 15 times a day is starting to kill my soul

Think the control isn't "slides with nothing" it's "slides with stock photos"

Insiders are telling me that he's signed binding MOUs at both LSU and Florida and will burn one of them on-field after the game
November 28, 2025 at 2:31 PM
In either case I think part of the solution is "develop a social stigma around it"!

Maybe more like suburbanites buying F150s over sedans because they think they need them and make it everyone else in their neighborhoods' problem, but the metaphor becomes pretty strained at that point

👍

That's weird man

Any left wing movement will have to incorporate some critique of the AI industry in the same way it has to involve some critique of the fossil fuels or weapons industry. Just because some people like pickup trucks doesn't mean we have to give up climate organizing
November 26, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Sure, but I don't think that's almost anyone's opinion. Most people have the (imo correct) opinion that LLMs have some limited usefulness, but that they're over hyped and being pushed on people, and the pushers are doing that for economic gain and to control the information space
November 26, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Why is that unfortunate? Isn't it good to try to build an anti-AI majority as part of a general push against tech industry power?
November 26, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Remembering the big "liberal" account on here who would post pro-AI takes and finding out they worked on image models for Google lol
November 26, 2025 at 7:57 PM
The slop people have won the war, AI just means LLMs and diffusion models now

CEO of Chevron getting sad about all the anti-oil trolls being mean on the internet
November 26, 2025 at 7:48 PM
When I've talked to students that use it they're not "pro AI". They think of it as a minor sin like using Chegg or something
November 26, 2025 at 6:19 PM
I've found the one population of people that do buy it and use it a lot are high school /university students. I'd be curious what % of the subscriber base comes from them alone
November 26, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Whereas very few non right-wingers/middle management types have strong positive feelings about it
November 26, 2025 at 6:11 PM
But I think that has a lot more to do with it takes time for people to develop opinions on things. It's super easy to imagine a world where anti AI is a 60%+ position within a couple years
November 26, 2025 at 6:10 PM
Yeah, I think there are more soft pro people ("oh I tried asking chatGPT for a turkey recipe") than anti people, but a lot lot more anti people than true pro people
