The subreddit is the only one i use.
Perhaps also their online chat community (on gitter.im? I forget, i have to go find it every time)

I do, but the recommended / default way to install browsers isn't via brew.

In the meantime, I made a script to fix github.com/NullVoxPopul...

I suppose also, they perhaps don't feel like they are a big enough company to burn that bridge
November 9, 2025 at 6:58 PM
They aren't sponsoring DHH tho?
November 9, 2025 at 5:49 PM
also -- all this to say, I appreciate you spending the time to reveal how bad of a community hyprland is.

I will not personally involve myself with them ever, and will encourage folks to use COSMIC when it becomes installable on non-PopOS
November 9, 2025 at 5:32 PM
yea -- I don't like any of the macbooks -- they're all too heavy
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
back to COSMIC, the only other real competitor in this space, isn't in a place where folks can try it out easily without completely switching your OS -- or deciding to add all the (perceived bloat) that is nix package management to debian/ubuntu/whatever.

frame.work/blog/framewo...

If it's any consolation, they spend next to nothing on Hyprland compared to their more impactful organizations
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
I think framework is doing a good job with this tbh
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
framework is a bunch of people of color, focused on technical stuff -- as far as I know, this is naturally unrelated to nazis.

they're trying to stay out of political topics.

I'm sure they'd rather continue to focus on tech, and not be bogged down by people making them talk about politics.
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
All this to say, I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that framework supports nazis, when the hyprland community is making cool stuff, but involves a problematic community.
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Now, hyprland allowing hate speech.... not great. They should stop that.

I hope all the drama around this has gotten them to re-evaluate their views, and treat people with respect.
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
hyperland (and things that use it) are important for progressing the tech if tiling window managements -- forcing competition, etc.

Personally, I'm eyeing @system76.bsky.social's COSMIC, because it requires far less config than hyprland.
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
DHH is problematic yes, but I don't believe it helpful to tie up technical progress with political opinion/disillusion/derangement (clarity: I strongly believe it's the right-wing folks with the derangement syndromes).
November 9, 2025 at 5:27 PM
tbh, I'd love if the combo laptops switch to ARM -- this'd solve all your complaints (and not using Windows, I suppose)

intel's x86 is a dead end.
November 9, 2025 at 5:14 PM
2004 was a bad time for combo tech.

it's not been until recently that it even makes sense.

tech was just too big back then.
November 9, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Big disagree on that.

also what do you mean re: nazis?

OLED has perfect clarity, so it's not an issue if you are further than 6" form the FOURTY FIVE inch monitor lolol

Even then, based on other comments, I feel like folks mess up their font rendering settings.

I haven't had an issue, and i use Windows, mac, and Linux on this monitor
