Strangest example I've seen of that was in Riccione…
Signboard of a seafood restaurant in Riccione, Italy, called 'Il Tentacolo' - 'The Tentacle'. The sign shows a cartoon of a smiling pink octopus, wearing a chef's hat and licking its lips. In one tentacle it holds a skewer of prawns and squid, in a second tentacle a salt-pot, in a third a rather unhappy-looking fish, and in the fourth a fork.

Marcille acquired it in 2nd quarter of 19C as Maximilien Robespierre, but a) it looks nothing like him; and b) he could never have afforded that outfit, not to mention not being allowed to wear a sword as a member of the Third Estate.

Although it's too distant to show up in my DNA, I do wonder abt the parentage of one gt-gt-gt-grandmother, b. in Gravesend c 1775, given that one of her gt-grandsons (my gt-uncle) looked like this (while light-skinned & fair-haired):

The film also omitted one of the most poignant details. Rob had got married just 3 weeks before the regt departed from Boston on campaign. Annie never remarried, and lived into the 1900s.
